On Thursday November 16, 2017, Great Oaks New York City greeted the holiday season with a Family Potluck. Braving the steep stairs that lead to the school, families determinedly climbed to the 3rd floor in anticipation of good food and pleasant times. The scene that greeted them at the top was the welcoming smiles of the GO-NYC team. Families were able to drop off their warm dishes by the buffet tables, before entering the decorated cafeteria. The buffet table was replete with lasagnas, mac & cheese, enchiladas, beef biryani, pollo al horno and more!
The GO-NYC team treated the families to a short film that documented the daily life of their students. Executive Director Antonio Vance and special guest Ms. Mead from the Board of Regents gave welcoming messages.
The night was full of great conversation and delicious food. GO-NYC would like to thank all who participated. It was lovely to start the holiday season as one big Great Oaks family!
